The Kouga FM team has identified and urgent need for some sort of Community based type radio station to help and communicate the human values of their strong Christian upbringing to the rest of the community. They has made some contact with some of the larger churches and all of the church leaders contacted have endorsed her plan and are all willing to assist to make the radio station a reality.

The team has made contact with some of the larger churches and all of the church leaders that have been contacted endorsed the initiative and are all willing to assist to make the radio station a reality. With the approval of the various community organisations and the community at large, they have found new life and are determined to get the project of the ground, to cater to the needs of the various communities in the Kouga area.
The concept has proven so popular that the project has the support of the local Kouga councilors together with the community in the area. This type of support is unprecedented for a concept ready to broadcast is indicative of the type of support that Kouga FM will receive in the future. Our organisation is open to all communities irrespective of gender, race, language, colour, religion and people who living with disabilities, people living with HIV and Aids who share our vision, mission and objectives.

Mission
Kouga FM exists for the Local community in the Kouga District Municipality area, for moral regeneration, community building as well as stimulating business growth and to create employment opportunities. Kouga FM will provide its community with a high quality professional broadcasting service. This service will be guided by the principle of community radio broadcasting and the station’s licensing condition.
Company Achievements
- Kouga FM team has a broad base experiences in the Broadcasting Industry.
- Obtain a five (5) year Community Sound Broadcasting Service Licensee from the
Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA). - Engage in a Memorandum of Understanding with Kouga Council to secure Office and Studio space at the Kouga Cultural Centre for the next five years (5).
- The country first National Signal Distributor (SENTECH) and Telkom have committed to distribute Kouga FM Signal (Contract between Kouga FM and Sentech.
Kouga FM started with broadcasting operations since May 2013. - Kouga FM was nominated and awarded the “Best Community Radio Station in the Eastern Cape 2015 “by Beat Magazine SA
- Kouga FM is the Third (3) Largest broadcaster in the Eastern Cape current Listenership of 375.000.00 Listeners per week
